I strive to live in your heart, my African Queen
You are the most beautiful of God’s creation
I can’t turn a blind eye; I can’t pretend not to see your beauty and your grace
Your beauty and your grace stand out like an oasis in the desert
Every time I steal a glance, my world melts away
You are the one true thing I desire
The anticipation of your love sets me on fire
Mesmerized I cry out and wait for you to rescue me
Your smooth skin
Your bold lips
Your dreamy eyes
Your caressing voice
Your natural hair
Your curvaceous body
Like a tornado in an open field, the things I desire swirls all around you
I am ensnared by the sound of your sweet voice
Your voice commands my attention as a General with his army
It’s as if a spell is cast on me so I won’t forget you
Your silence is as enchanting as the sweetest song
Dare not break into a smile
Dare not utter a word
Dare not look my way
Your prominence weakens me
I feel battered without mercy, like strong waves crashing relentlessly into the rocky shores
A strong Queen causes a King to buckle in the knees
So I humbly ask,
Will you lend me an ear?
Will you grant me your heart?
Will you allow me to love you?
Will you allow me to adore you?
Will you allow me to protect you?
I know the love of an African woman is worth more than gold
When I fall, I know you will make the landing softer
You will stay across my horizon holding it all together
No one else holds the remedy for my aggression and flaws
You will always be there to pick me up and brush off the straws
You will counteract any disobedience with loving discipline
Your affection is larger than life
I will lose myself completely in your wholesome embrace
So I say to you today; your love will be my religion, my truth, my beacon, my peace
I need just a little more of your touch
I need just a little more of your warmth
The silence is deafening as I stare at you but it’s a raging war inside of me
I can’t resist being dragged into your world
Like magnet with steel, I can’t resist being drawn to you
You ask if I am strong enough to be in your heart
Grant me a pass; please let me in to provide the answers you seek
The vision of romance is tranquilizing
And so I ask again, can I live in your heart forever?
If I am breathing easier, it’s due to your presence in my world
I am weak and starving for your love and affection
All means nothing without you, my African Queen
My destiny is entwined with yours like vines on a tree
Given the chance, I choose you to be my home
My heart vows never leave it’s resting place
I desire to live in your heart forever
